Manhattan is moving forward with the addition of a new meeting/entertainment district in the community's downtown. This new district will feature the addition of a hotel, conference center, theater complex, and Discovery Center.

The highlighted feature will be the Flint Hills Discovery Center, which will serve not only as a community event center, but as a starting point for visitors seeking to explore the scenic Kansas Flint Hills. With interactive exhibits and special exhibitions, the Discovery Center is envisioned to be the perfect venue to gain an appreciation for the tallgrass prairie and the hills that protect the prairie.

With the addition of the new hotel and conference center, Manhattan will expand its selection of meeting spaces and accomodations.

The Warren Theater Complex will bring new entertainment options to the community. The theater will also provide additional meeting space for special events being held in the southside area.

Together with the Flint Hills Discovery Center, this district will become a major source for satisfying Manhattan's meeting, entertainment, and education needs.

The southside redevelopment district is currently being prepared for the future construction. The site preparation and demolition, will last for several months.

The southside district will indeed attract visitors to Manhattan and offer residents of The Little Apple® new and additional options for entertainment, meeting space, and learning about the amazing region in which we live. The future is bright for Manhattan!
